Nah, you just use the side bars as a step and climb in over the roll cage.

Looks superb, though I'd guess not the most aerodynamic thing going...

Well done on all the hard work. A couple of points however...

  1. RGB Regulation (Electrics) 5.10:1 says that the headlamps in your picture are of insufficient diamater. Its a daft rule as 'we' are at an aerodynamic disadvantage anyway, but your headlamps need to be 5.75" in diameter.
  2. When you say diffuser, you don't mean something with vertical slats do you? I can't tell from your photos but Bodywork Modifications Prohibited 2.3 tells you what you can't do.

Anyone would think I researched this sh1t! You a late entry for Mallory? Coming to watch, so I'll come and say Hi if you are.

ETA: Champ's car with big-ish lamps:

Thanks for all the nice replies, it has been 7 months of hard work to get to this stage,
Tim thanks for letting me know about the headlights must have fallen asleep by the time I got to that part, and no it's not a diffuser just a rear undertray. Won't be at Mallory but should be at Brands. Will come and say hello

Cheers

No problem. One other thing, have you got your 'cat' sorted? I probably won't get to another round this year but will hopefully share the grid with you sometime in 2011.

Oh and about the headlights, I think they will be OK have checked the rules and it says 5 " headlights or equivalent surface area. The ones I have fitted are vey bulbus so I think they have sufficient surface area
Cheers

What it actually says is:

quote:

Where cars are fitted with ‘cycle’ type headlights they must be a minimum of 5¾” diameter or equivalent surface area if not circular.

I'd be pleased if the rule could be changed, but that won't happen for this year I would have thought.

ETA: Chris, as I have an interest in this as well, I'm going to raise the point on the RGB forum.
