918 fireblade suddenly stuttering
As i crossed the finishing line on sunday at full chat in 5th the car suddenly starting stuttering, like it was bouncing off the limiter. I changed
into 6th and it was the same, but as it was the end of the race had to back off and never got chance to try the car at full chat again. In the paddock
the engine sounded fine, even when revved to the the limit, but obviously there was no strain on the engine. Up until this point the car was perfect
and not missed a beat, even as i came yo the straight i changed as normal just before the limiter in 4th no problem, and as the revs rose in 5th it
was ok until suddenly it started stuttering. I thought maybe i was hitting the limiter and was too busy looking in my mirrors, but looking back at the
video this doesn't seem the case, and anyway i shouldn't have been hitting the limiter at the point it started any way. I have checked
fuel level and there was plenty left.
Its going to be hard to try and replicate the fault legally and also worried it could be something more terminal that another drive would cause total
destruction. So has any one got any ideas on what it could be??

When did you change the plugs and do you use Iridium IX's?
I've had exactly the same issue with my 919 blade in my race car.

I changed the plugs at the start of the season, they are the standard ones Andy B supplies. I'll call Andy but he will be busy repairing the
Sabre at the moment

I use Iridium IX's and change them after every 3-4 events. 919 blades don't like being bounced of their limiters and they do foul the
plugs very easily.
On my race car I always give the engine a good rev before switch off, to make sure the plugs are clear.
Change them regularly!

The car came with IX's, and i ran the the car all last season on the same set without a problem, but never realised the plugs needed changing so
often, and the car had started to stutter low down (coming out of the hairpin at mallory). Looking back i have done 9 races, 6 qualifying session, a
trackday and 2x30 min test sessions so thats getting on for 6 hours of track useage, and last weekend i think i probably pushed the car harder than i
ever have.
