Best 10W40 Semi-Synth
Gonna fill the gixxer engine up with some good quality oil, but whats recommended? I've seen mention of Castrol Power 1:
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_263283_categoryId_165507_langId_-1?cm_vc=IOV4PDPZ1&a
mp;iozone=PDPz1
Or possibly a millers oil? What do most people use?

I use castrol 10w40 racing fully synth, i like to use the best oil i can find as the engine is under more strain/load when fitted in a car and no
clutch slip problems that some guys have mentioned with using a fully synth oil.

Be aware with car oils in bikes the more recent API specifications (from SH to SM ) have reduced percentages of anti-wear additives (zinc
dialkyldithiophosphates) this was done to protect the catalyst and lambda sensor from deposits which reduce their effectiveness.
This is why most motorbike manufacturers continued to recommend the obsolete SF & SG specification.

Andy Bates who has more experience of this than anyone recommends Maxum4 and supplies it at a good price.
I guess the manufacturers specification for your engine is a bit out of date (like mine). I suspect all quality modern oils will be the nicest oil
that your engine has ever tasted given how technology has moved on.
I am sure that Castrol stuff from Halfords would do a fine job.

The main thing that everyone seems to ignore is whether the oil is suitable for a wet clutch or not.
Look for oils that are JASO MA approved the MA bit refers to a wet clutch test to ensure that it is not affecting clutch slip. Semi Synthetic is best
NOT fully synthetic.

If it can't be fixed with a hammer then its probably an electrical problem.
