Hayabusa engine weight

Anyone know roughly how much a busa engine weighs? I bought an electric winch from maplins which can lift 100KG max, it's under that right?

I thought they were around 92k - not that it matters, since both weights are under the 100k..

I dont believe it weighs 80kg when fitting to a car (it may do with all hoses and stuff connected and full of oil/coolant)

you really dont need a hoist, me and a friend picked mine up and just dropped it in.

I would say no more than 55kg

Sorry - went to edit my post and deleted the b*gger by mistake.

Last one I weighed was in the high 80's!

That was dressed, but no headers or airbox.

maybe im stronger than I thought

we put the engine in minus the airbox, throttle bodies and loom. and of course no oil or coolant.

mines an 09 engine but i dont believe it can make that much difference

Thanks everyone. I know i don't need a hoist really but it was only £20 in Maplins clearance so i couldn't resist.

the usual figures quoted are about 60kgs for most 1000cc bike engines, and 90kgs for busa. I suppose that 30kgs is why its so strong!

Rig an eyebolt next to the winch and use a pulley on the engine, that way you have twice the lifting power, although that wil get you half the purchase (Pull)
