zx9r question on plug order and effect on engine

I was mucking about at the weekend, and thought to replace the plugs on the zx9r. As I took of the HT to no4, you could hear the engine buck and stutter. Putting the HT back on 4 and then removing 3 however was a different story with a little difference in engine sound.. Put back on HT to 3, and remove 2 and the same again, put back the HT to 2 and remove the HT to plug 1 and again buck and splutter.

Is the discrepancy between the results of removing the HT to the plugs normal? as I would have assumed that I would get the same reaction irrespective of which plug had gone?

Cheers
Craig

Yes, it sounds as though the fueling isn't balanced evenly between all 4 cylinders, some working harder than the others.

Whats the tickover like?

Pete, the tickover seems okay at just below 1200rpm (which I think is within limits). Sounds like I may need to invest in a set of carb balancers and get the spanners out.
