Hayabusa rectifier
have a Hayabusa Westfield
The wiring connector between the Stator and rectifer is melted
Is ther a test for the rectifier ?
Dont really want to buy a new one unless faulty
Do i Reconnect the wires or is it passed it?

You may well find that the Rectifier/Regulator still actually works. Most of the problem is that the current passing through the connectors is
compromised by a poor connection, ie loose crimping.
Check the stator windings by doing the following. check the continuity of the windings with a multimeter on ohms setting. There should be continuity
between each of the three yellow wires. Also check that there is NO continuity between any yellow wire and earth. Next start the engine and run it
with the Rec/Reg disconnected. There should be a minimum of 50 volts AC at 5000 RPM between any 2 yellow wires.
Assuming that is all ok, then the stator windings are fine. Crimp some new terminals onto the melted connectors and reconnect the Rec/Reg. Run the
engine and there should be around 14 volts when revving the engine above 2000RPM.
If the Rec/Reg is mounted under the dash, relocate it to somewhere where it will discipate heat better and get some air flowing around it.
If it can't be fixed with a hammer then its probably an electrical problem.
