919 Blade - Oil Surge
I've a 919 Blade in a MNR and I am getting oil surge issues.
The sump has a baffle and holds just over 4 litres of oil to get the oil to the max mark on the window.
My mate at the garage looked at ways to protect the sump as it was bloody low and the plug looked exposed. He fabricated a sump guard but needed to
relocate the sump plug (which was moved back and now flush with the sump pan).
Since refitting the modified sump the oil light flickered on during a recent trackday on my digidash (mainly under braking on the downhill sections)
but after checking the oil level regularly noting it is at the max mark I put it down to hard driving.
However, now when road driving every left hand turn results in the light coming on.
I've seen a comment about oil pressure on this forum but when warm the pressure on tick over is 65psi and during running is around 80psi.
I've changed the oil filter for the larger Highflow 303 (I used the smaller 204 filter initially) to see if that changes anything.
If that doesn't work and before I go back to sticking a new sump on does anyone have any suggestions?
Cheers,
Sim

You need to overfill by 200ml, just to the max is not enough.

Oil pressure when hot at tickover should not be that high should be around 20psi. I suspect you have a bad connection or a wire trapped from the
sender, I had something very similiar with water temperature after refitting the airbox, turned out wire was trapped against a nut and certain forces
(I.e) left handers, I got water temp warning and then started getting odd temp reading. Alternatively have you reitted the oil pressure release valve
correctly?

As austen says, i'd try and new sender or check yours first. Quite common issues with the senders.
