More gearbox help please
I just put the engine back in the car and it is running. It used to go into 2nd gear and then jump out. I have replaced top gear as it has the dogs
that mesh into 2nd and the forks,
The good news is that it goes from 1st to 2nd gear and doesnt drop out.........however............ from 3rd to 2nd it appears not to mesh correctly
and go past to proper neutral (green light on ), you can then go back to second, effectivly going up the gears again.
For pitys sake Help, as I dont want to have to take the engine out again.
I think it could be the drum rotatng too far. It didnt used to do that

After hours of lying awake. I think I may know the problem.
What if the sprung shoe fo the gears on the selector drum is sticking. Then as I go from 3rd to 2nd then the sprung shoe to neutral will tend to pull
it past 2nd???
Thoughts?
