MC Size for Clutch on BEC's???

The slave-cylinder issue on a BEC is confusing me! Should it!?

Is there a 'typical' size of MC that people are using for BEC's???

Cheers!

I cannot see it matters, just match the master so you get a 1 -1 ratio and set the travel by pivot on the pedal

Just make sure the stroke is long enough, oh er.

Cheers Mark.

Unfortunately there are no markings on my slave to say what size it is.

Size DOES matter !
Moto master cyls are surprisingly small, remember these are hand operated. IF you use a typ car type MC you could find that the thing is so big that a 1/2" of pedal travel will push enough fluid volume to fully disengage the clutch and possibly even blow the slave seals. Likely not something you were wanting to happen.
Have no idea what size you specifically need.
Research on the size of the donor Motorcycles' master cyl bore ..was... then work from there.

Try a bike rear brake master cylinder, it should move enough fluid to do the job and they are cheap from breakers.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I used a rear brake cylinder (as described above) on my zx6r clutch. I think (not 100% sure) that motorcycle rear brake cylinders are 1/2inch diameter. The only weakness of them is that their throw is fairly short (about 15mm), but they seem to do the job and are very light and cheap.

bear in mind how you are going to bleed it. The orientation doesn't match that of the bike install.

If you want to buy new then http://www.racealternative.co.uk/products/view/842/BREMBO_REAR_BRAKE_MASTER_CYLINDER might be an option.
