Little Fiat - Fuel Tank- Front or Back Mounted ?
When the car was put together, it had bonnet vents cut to draw air in under the valance and up through an Ex-Scootz Ultima radiator out of the top of
the bonnet.
I have always gone along with this idea until my thought has gone to the fuel tank location. There is in my opinion room for it in the back, my
obsession with a big bulkhead between me and it won.
Now Im thinking of mounting the radiator in the back, and ducting it properly so it gets it fair share from the fan while static. Leaving me with
plenty room in the front end.
It removes the fuel from the hot engine bay, and puts some weight in the front.
Whats the verdict guys, Im starting to think front mounted fuel tank, and the radiator bracketed off the lower engine cradle.

ive got mine partly in the front extending down what was the trans tunnel . i dont think you will have many issues keeping the engine cool as long as
you get some decent airflow around the motor ,i used a re- cored micra unit to cool both v twins and had no issues including summer trackdays.
i did think that hot air from the rad may cause issues with the fuel temp but no issues there either

Cheers Froggy,
There is already two biggish side vents into the engine bay, so the radiator and oil coolers can vent out the back, with some ducting to help.
Tank in the front it is.

Would prefer a secure setup like Kimini, but the scuttle is close enough to my knees now (and pedal box), the chassis cross bracing would need
re-designing/fabricating.

My first tank was 5 gallons and less than 100miles with a single v twin . Current version is just over 9 gallons so even driven hard il get 150miles
from it .
Got to be easier to re work it now than after it's built

There's still plenty space under the bonnet, but it will be an odd shape.
Might make a cardboard one then try and remember how to work out its volume.
I had worked on a 5 gallon tank, so 100 mile range on a good day.
6-7 gallons would be better.
With a swirl pot.
