Cbr air filters

Hi,

Need some advice!
I need too change the airbox off the CBR engine I have because it hits the bonnet.
I was thinking about using the small cone metal air filters. Would love to get the piper cross but tad expensive!

Any suggestions?
I don't really want to have to modify the Air box!

Cheers

Oli

Bike engines are really sensitive to air filters. I would stay with the std airbox if you can. I lost 20 bhp when I was using a sausage filter.

I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

I think I will have to mod the air filter rather than the bonnet. On further inspection the air box Is fowling on engine brace that's then causing it to push on the bonnet!
Gonna be tricky though. Cert don't want to loose 20bhp!

As you can see its very tight at the bottom of the airbox!!

Removed it today to have a look now struggling to get back on as very very tight!

I think id be inclined to chop some of the top off and fibreglass it.
Wouldnt do anything more drastic and I wouldnt think that effect things too much.
