kawasaki re6

hi there everyone, i have a friend who is running a kawa re6 as a motocross vehicle.

my questions are:

i) are there any ways to gain performance from bog-standard kit locost style?

ii) does anyone know of a dry sump kit available for this engine?

iii) what % increase can be expected from a dry sump kit?

iv) is there any other bec engines available under 900 cc that could be used?

thx
andy

I never found 600cc (ZZR, CBR etc) engined bikes particularly good, so I doubt anything under 900cc would be any use - I'd go at least 12 - 1300cc for a road car. You need at least a bit of torque

Dry sump prob make 0% difference - more pumping to do.

I use a 1998 kawasaki ZX9r engine in my autograss car, the amount of abuse that engine has taken is unbelievable, major overheating, has been run pig rich and dangerously lean and no damage has been done. Has been hydrolocked from a sticky float and no problems after replacing the oil.

140ish BHP and red line at 13000rpm really get's your juices going, about £600 to convert to fuel injection using megasquirt, another £600 to convert to a turbo after fuel injection, at 6psi you are knocking on 190-200hp, a set of forged pistons and 300hp is attainable with good fuel on stock rods.

Complete new head, cams, valves etc. is £100, barrels and pistons are £50, complete new engine can be had for around £300

I'm currently converting mine from carbs to megasquirt injection and turbo
