CBR900 Loosing oil
Hi all,
Since winter my MK seems to be using oil.
There are no signs of leaks, theres no smoke from the exhaust, theres a bit of residue from the breather on the rocker cover (I havnt looked in the
catch tank but theres no signs of oil on the level indicator on the side).
I had to add a litre of oil the other day after around 150miles of driving, surely that much oil loss would be visable?!
engine is a 98 cbr900
any ideas where to start?!

Probably a stupid question, but was it at the correct level before you went out? Possible that there was some residue on the sight glass making it
look fuller than it was?

I have serviced it over winter, new oil and filter
added the right amount of oil and had it sat between the 2 lines etc
noticed it looked empty the other day so added some oil, then ~150miles later noticed it was low again.
this second time I gave the sight glass a wipe down to make sure it was all clean, iv not been out in it since and im away at work now so cant do a
'test run'

Bizarrely, I now seem to have a similar disappearance of oil. Posted in the engines section as well, i want to find where the oil has gone now!
