ZX9 C1 Wiring - Clutch/Neutral Light !!
Hi, Just putting a ZX9 C1 ( 1998) in my Indy and it will only run in Neutral - soon as you put it I gear it stops. I have now wired the Clutch switch
to earth ( 3 wires) and joined the Stand wires from the switch. It now runs ok but the Neutral light is on all the time. How do I fix this as I want
to use the neutral light.
Sorry I know this has been covered a few times before but I could not find the answer in the archive.
Thanks, Paul

it sounds more like you clutch isnt adjusted correctly and its stalling when you select a gear. if the saftey circuits (clutch, neutral, side stand)
were not by passed then it wouldnt start at all.
the light green neutral wire from the gear box should run the indicator on the dash, the rest go to eath

ah I see i missread , sounds like youve earthed one too many greens, as said run the light green neutral wire from the box directly to the neutral
indicator
without the stand and lever circuits earthed then itll cut out once the gear is selected as you described

Surely by me joining the Clutch and stand wires with an earth will keep the Neutral light on as they are on the same circuit ( Green wire).

Are you using a wiring diagram? It'll be clearer if you do.
They're not on the same circuit but connected via diodes in the fuse box.
The easiest method to disable the safety circuits is to disconnect and Earth the single green/black at the ecu plug and leave the rest
I'll have a look at it later I'm going on memory here.

Zx9 Wiring
Yeah sorry I meant the clutch and the neutral switch are on the same circuit - if you have time it would be really appreciated what I need to do to
disable the functions and get the neutral switch working again.
I'm using a std zx9 key switch assy.
Thanks, Paul

Zx9 wiring
So just to clarify what I have wiring wise at the moment .
1. Std C1 wiring loom with switch gear and key switch
2. I have joined the clutch wires to earth
3. I have joined the stand wires
Engine runs and changes gear. But the neutral light is on Al, the time.
Be good to know what have to do to this loom and hopefully leave the mods I have done as the loom is all laced.
Thanks

ZX9 Wiring
Hi Flanders, Just looked at the wiring diagram - so I could leave the wiring as is and run a Wire from the Gearbox directly to the Neutral light as
you suggested. That would leave the safety circuits doing there bit so to speak.
Is that right?.
Thanks, Paul
