Blown Blade engine for making engine mounts etc
I've got at least two blown blade blocks in the garage which could form the basis of a dummy engine for chassis building purposes if anyone is
interested, saving you needing to buy a running engine till the last minute? If so then if someone wants to collect one from me in Hants then you can
have it FOC - saves me taking it to the skip.
I could probably even dig out everything else externally to give you accurate dimensions for the whole engine if you wanted to cover the equivalent
ebay costs of the bits (which is where they will end up if nobody wants it like this) - such as a sump pan, end covers, head and cam cover etc.
I could even maybe rent it out a month at a time if enough people were interested, although posting it wouldnt be an option!

Don't know the first thing about bike engines but if they're ali you might wanna take them to the local scrap metal guy, he may give you
lots of beer tokens.

Scrap ali' makes nothing these days. Turn the pistons into ashtrays, the block into a coffee table and stick em on ebay - remember
"there's one born every minute".
ps. I have a CBR1000F engine, seized, awaiting a similar fate.

I dunno about the low scrap value tho, I bought a sheet of 3mm ali the other day and it was about twice the price it was a couple of years ago,
several people have said that metal prices in general have gone through the roof cos China is using so much evidently?

We scrap ali all the time at work, off-cuts and small panels mostly, usually between £50 to £70 for small loads. Money for nothing if you've got
nothing else to do with them too.

Ive got enough to do over the winter without turning scrap bits into furniture!
I reckon a blade block must be best part of 15kgs of ali, so two or three of those could be worth something scrap!

I didnt get a full sheet in the end, I bought some offcuts which were just over 1m square in total, which cost me £20. I think a 2m x 1m x 3mm sheet
new is around £60!

Buy single sheets of 3mm ali at work for around £34, 8' x 4'. We're in Newcastle and get them shipped from Manchester though.

The one that bolts on the clutch cover? The only one Ive got is one that's been half ground away by the previous biker throwing it down the road
There was a new one going on ebay the other day tho, might be worth a look.
