fuel pump

Hi,

Just bought a ZX9 fuel pump off ebay, want to test it before i give feedback.

do i need to prime it before i connect it to power? if so how?

also will they run backwards if the polarity is not correct or will i risk damaging it? It does have one red and one black wire only so am i assuming too much to think that they are colour coded for polarity?

Any hints welcome!
Thanks
Colin

well

yes they are polarized like any other

tool in fact ever device is but some you don't notice it (like in a bulb)

if you do it in reverse way, it will not perform the way you think..

offcourse the red one is for + and the black one for chasis.

my sierra one sucks soow didn't prime..

offcourse it needs cooling down (there's the luiquid for) soow much time you don't have to let it run in dry..

i just use the sierra one for my bike engine...

because the pressure is limitaded by the regulator and the engine runs very very good on it.. it idles with the screw completely out..

altough suchs a slow rythem does think of 6 cylinder..
