ZX7r Carb Problems

Ok having finally got a manifold sorted and my megajolt up and well sparking! I need to get the car started...one problem with that! Attached it all up today with the pump and everything and there seems to be no petrol entering the engine! Can make the engine run purely on easi-start but revs the nuts out of it! I've got a small inline filter before the pump and a big one before the carbs. When i turn the ignition on the pump does its stuff and half fills the filter then cuts out.....there is fuel in the bowls though as I removed one....so can't understand why there would be fuel in the bowl but not entering the engine!? If anyone can enlighten me I'd be much obliged! Its on a 1.6 pinto by the way......cheers Oli.
