Fitting Pipercross backplate to carb blade

I'm sure this is me being thick, but how do you fit the pipercross airfilter backplate to the 919 carbs?

I'd expected the backplate to have 16 holes which the screws holding the black carb top thingys go though. But its simply got 4 large holes which go over the trumpets and no way to secure it.

Does it in some way use the carb to airbox rubbers, perhaps locating into the ridges in the rubbers? (not got any of those so just guessing).

Anybody got a spare set of airbox rubbers they're willing to part with?

It DOES utilise the airbox rubbers, and hence they are quite rare!

I bought a full airbox off ebay to get mine!

You could try giving Malc yorkshire engines or even better Andy Bates of AB Performance a call to supply some to you. Oh, and of course there is Honda themselves

Thanks.

I do have a spare 919 airbox, which I think only has 1 rubber

I do however have a complete 954 airbox and the rubbers may be similar enough to work.

Failing that I'll give Andy a call after eBay.

No worries - and for what it's worth, I believe the 954 rubbers do work!

Steve

Chris

I've got a couple of sets of rubbers - don't know what one set is off but they may be Blackbird and may fit.

Try your main dealer you may be suprised, i had to replace my rubers between head and carbs as they hard hardened off too much, they were about £4 each. (893cc blade)
