Hi Mike

Can't help specifically, as my set up is slightly different (single massive sausage air filter, 4-2-1 exhaust and a bit more capacity) but here goes:-

Mine (ZZR1100) runs Keihen CVKD 40's with a standard main jet size of 155. I bought a Dyno Jet stage 1 kit, and that came with a range of jets, from 126 to 155! So I contacted a mate who runs a Jedi in hill climbs and sprints. He said he was running his on 250 main jets!! (He won his championship a few years back, so I know he's quick).

So I took a set of the 125's along to my local rolling road, got them drilled out to 200 and fitted them. Haven't had it rolling roaded, but it pulls strongly through the rev range and the plugs are a nice biscuit colour.

Your (GPZ) ZX1000 runs CVKD36's with a standard main of 130. Allowing for the bikes original air filter / air box and restrictive? exhaust I'd say you want to go up in stages towards the 155's and possibly beyond.

Looking through my kit, I still have the 136's, 140's, 3 of the 144's? and 8 of the 155 mains (but which ones are drilled out to 170 is anyones guess!).

I guess I could pop them in the post to you, you could have a swap around over a week or so and then post the rest back to me?

Or failing that I believe that the main jets are the same thread as webber dgav main jets. Which are available from fast road cars :-

for a couple of quid each!

I haven't had mine rolling roaded yet, but am looking at booking a session over the winter.

Cheers

Mike

P.S. Discussed with Joel here! And I'd just spent ages re-typing it too!

Hi Mike,
Excellent information there,thanks very much.
I actually have a dynojet kit sitting but the largest main jets are 140.
I think I will have a go at drilling the jets out and see how I get on.
Is there any thing in particular I could be doing to get this set up or is it a case of in with the jets and balance the carbs ?
I also notice with the dynojet you get an adjustable fuel needle,Is there any specfic setting for the surclip,I have the kit but no instructions !!

Many thanks

Mike

P.S Thanks for the offer on the jets, much appreciated

Mike,

No problem at all.

Go to the American Dynojet site, select Kawasaki, and there is a list of all the kits they do:-

http://www.dynojet.com/jetkits/motorcycle/kawasaki.aspx#1100

Click on the PDF logo next to your kit and download the instructions.

But basically I think the circlip is positioned to lift the needle out of the main jet at different times. The first clip, from the top, leaves the needle further in the jet for a given amount of movement on the slider. The last clip, near the pointy end, pulls the needle further out for the same movement of the slider. (Stands to be corrected by someone older and wiser).

HTH

Mike
