I am trying to sort out what bits I will need prior to my kit arriving.

On looking at my engine I have 4 water pipes which need to be connected presumably to the radiator ( which I havnt got yet). There is a large pipe on one side of the engine which goes to the water pump. I assume this is the main feed from the rad. There is a similar diameter pipe from the thermostat housing which again I assume goes directly to the rad. My problem is that there are two other small water pipes, one from the oil filter and one from the top of the thermostat housing. How do they connect into the circuit.??

I have yet another pipe (which I dont think is water) which comes from a common rail on the top of the carbs. Is this a vent pipe or should it be connected to something.

There is a very good diagram by Benedict for the plumbing - I've lost mine - he does look on here - but also ask on the Yahoo BEC list - it will all become perfectly clear.

As for the carbs it's for de-icers and does carry water. Most people - me included - just disconnect them - it's not likely you'll be taking it out on very cold days is it???

Noticed the post on the BEC list and have replied on there but as it's only text I'll paste it in here as well:

This works great in my car and quite afew others I know of now.
Wrt the carbs, they had water piped to them in the bike to prevent icing, but this doesn’t seem to be a problem in car installations and everybody I know of just leaves this bit off, blocking off the take offs for this in the top of the pump and the side of the head (IIRC the E series has 2 of these take offs in the head whereas the C only has 1).
As well as the water jacket, the carbs (obviously) have a feed from the fuel pump. The other pipes coming from the carbs, which join up on the plastic rail thingy is the vent/overflow for the float chambers. You can just leave this open but it’s probably a good idea to stick some hose on it and point it away from where it normally points, which is over the cam cover towards the exhaust. If one of the float needles doesn’t close properly then the pump will fill that float chamber and continue to pump the fuel out of the overflow. Not brilliant if it then pours onto the exhaust!!!
