Wasted evening!?
Well I started fastening my body tub down last night so had loads more to do tonight. So I cut some holes and back on went the steering column and
gear change. Then I needed to shift the car to do some more fastening/fibreglassing.
Well, then I got sidetracked fitting my oil pressure guage (which I found while looking for clearing some room) so it seemed a good idea to connect up
some wires and see if it worked. Spent an hour looking for the right wires in the unfinished dash loom and hey-presto it runs again (6months since
last time). So I drove it the 10yards I needed to move it.
Then it was time to go home! None of the jobs done that I set out to do!

Im always having days like that. Thats why i never set targets nowadays 
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

i'm different, when i'm in full working mode, i actually write down realistic objectives for the day, and if i dont meet them, i wake up
earlier to compensate... in extreme cases, i punish myself by skipping lunch or any other crucial moment of the day  and working through it...
seriously... thats how i managed to come up with a rolling chassis and an overhauled engine in less than 8 months...
set yourself realistic targets and commit to them... its really easy to get distracted with other things, i know... but this way you really catch up
on your building.

Yes, but are you enjoying yourself?
This car building lark is very much a hobby for me. Something I can enjoy as and when I can. Doing it your way would just make me stressed and force
mistakes. But then again, each to their own Everyone is different
adithorp, I don't think any day spent in the garage is wasted. You've certainly moved your build on. Sometimes I just stand in the garage
looking at the thing, thinking what to do next. I may not physically do anything, but if I've planned in my mind the next steps then the time is
not wasted - IMHO.

i do need to start making a list of things to do when i'm down in the garage.
as what happens i start one job get frustrated then look at another job, then so on.
just hope i dont get bored putting the wheels on, or it will end up a robin reliant

Well, I've wasted my evening! Stayed in instead of going out with the lads cause SHE wanted picking up from work at 9.30pm.
Normally don't mind because I don't like her getting the bus home that time of night... BUT, to follow her boss home in her car who only
lives two streets away... well, I could strangle her!!!

oh yea... the satisfaction i get when things are done on time is overwhelming.. plus i end up loving the fact i was "hands-on" doing the
job rather than fiddling with parts (which i usually do too). but you're right.. to each his own...

When i was building i had a list of all the jobs i could think of and estimated time next to them
It was a constant battle of losing time on one job and trying to make it up on the next one.
Its good for your focus though and if you apply some structured order to your tasks it stops you 'forgetting' about the less attractive
jobs and mixed good with not so good throughout the build.
