Engine has "let go"

After about 10 track days I decided to take part in my first Auto Solo event and guess what - the engine let go:

Now what I'm wandering is (893 with baffled sump) was it just too much 360 spins / chicanes etc that would do this or more likey the engine was just on it's way out?
Reason I ask is that the day itself was really good and don't want to put a new engine in just to see it go bang again?

Cheers
Eddie

You haven't said how many miles or the age of the engine.

Ahh, an electrical problem I see.

(Rod through the side of the alternator).

Sorry, but one of my survival techniques is seeing the funny side. Hope you can find a replacement motor cheap enough.

That's really tough conkers mate, but you could prob guess what my advice would be - go to the same bloke that this one was from and tell him what happened...

Yeah I do have that engine we talked about Craig so that is ok for now

The one I sold was a complete bike that I figured was worth more selling as a complete bike than splitting for engine.

The engine was 1 year and 5000 miles old since rebuild (obviously engine was pre '95 originally) and this is why I'm concerned about just putting another one in if there is something wrong with my setup or that this Auto Test was just too much high revs 360 spins etc ???

Cheers
Eddie
