r1 fuel light flashing and 8k bounce
hi all ,
has anybody found a good way to get round the fuel light and the 8k rpm bounce? ( on a 4xv r1 )
looked on here tried shorting the fuel sender, fitting a resister, and using my fuel sender in the tank,
just the same,
also tried a spare ecu,
any ideas?
cheers Paul

I thought you got the 8k bounce from lack of exup?
Have you wired the fuel light up to the pump?
The pump has a connection for the level warning.
Maybe you are getting the warning because it is disconnected?

I have a 5VY, so it may be different. but when i ground the fuel level warning signal through a 750 Ohm resistor the light goes out.
The light doesn't go straight out... its like it has a cycle of flashes, then once its done the cycle it goes out.

I used a 10k resistor on my 5JJ as it was all I had kicking around and it worked a treat!

I Just wired them straight together and it was fine. although the fuel light was on all the time. Nothing that a piece f black insulation tape wont
cure.
Mine was 4xv using R1 loom and R1 clocks too.
Give it a try.
