zx9r coils?

can someone help please? trying to check the spark plugs and i am reading the haynes. how do you remove the coils.....is it a twist yank do a jig on one leg as they do no want to come out and i do not want to break something.

Just pull them mate. They can be a bit stubborn. If they're that stuck I suspect that the plastic insulor sleeve may be split. Thats what happened to mine and they were hard to get out.

cheers.....did you have to replace them with new?..or did you just reuse?

Had to replace them with some off an E engine off Ebay. I did try to re insulate them by putting a layer of insulation tape around them but they still wouldn't fit. I think water gets into them and it rusts, expands and splits the casing. Had to replace all of mine in the end.

MisterG, thanks for the replies. I managed to get all the coil plugs out over the weekend, without any breaking - result.

Fitted some new iridium spark plugs and she goes like stink.
