Two Fuel Filters?

Is it good practice to have a fuel filter post pump as well as the original pre-pump filter? If so will another original bike one the same as the pre-filter be ok, or does it need to be different? It's for a carb'd 5JJ R1.

Cheers,

Chris.

No need.
Unless you're working on the assumption that your pump is going to fragment and shove loads of impeller bits into the carbs (in which case they'd get stuck in the needles holes anyway) the fuel filter post pump won't be doing anything....

Personally, I'd go for two.

One after the pump, just in case the pump internals start to break up. Consider how much a filter costs in comparison to the potential damage caused if you don't have one fitted.

100% Correct way is a coarse screen filter or sock filter inside the tank and a fine (paper element) filter between the pump and injectors/carbs.

Don't use a paper element filter on the suction side as they can collapse if the tank suction gets blocked.
