Smiths telemetrix speedo jumping around, will a gear indicator work??
I have a smiths telemetrix speedo, and the needle does jump around a bit (+-10mph), will this mean a gear idicator will not work??

whats one of those????? I bought the car with it all fitted so no idea. I assume the healer just smooths out the spikes obtained from the pulses??

Hi Austin
The Speedo healer, when used is placed between the speed sensor and the speedo. It can multiply or divide the number of pulses from the sensor to
calibrate the speedo.
In your case, If the telemtrix speedo is electronic I am sure it already has a calibration cuircuit built in so you should not have the need of a
speedo healer.
To answer your initial question, as long as you are getting a consistent pulse from your speedo sensor, a gear indicator should work perfectly. It may
be worth checking the sensor set up just to check all is OK. Or find someone with an ocilliscope to double check the sendor pulse is constant.
Cheers

The bracket holding the sensor next to the prop isn't the best thing i've seen, i suspect it is probably vibrating, causing the occasional
loss of pick up. I just wondered how good these telemetrix speedo's are, i.e. do they jump around a bit any way??
