Paddleshift link rods & cables

I looking at making my own paddleshift and was wondering where to get the link arms/rods that connect to cable operated systems and what cable people are using ?

I dismantle land rovers for a living and the shifter cables on auto models make fantastic cabel shofts for Bike engine conversions.
