R1 Fuel Pump Wiring

I have wired up all of the electrics for my 2001 R1 engine, I have turned the ignition to put power onto everything ( clocks, bike loom fuses etc) but havent heard the fuel pump prime. Does this only prime when the car is actually starting or will it be waiting for something else i.e side stand switch?

Hope this makes sense

Pretty sure it should prime when the ignition goes on. Mine's an 06 though.

I've got a ZX9R and the fuel pump will only run either when cranking the engine, or when the engine is running.

The relay on the pump is set this way so that the pump does not continue to run of the engine stalls, but don't know about the R1.

Try disconecting the starter motor main cable and then use the ignition key and listen to see if the pump starts to click.

Cheers
