Restricting a derestricted scooter
Hi All
Sort of BEC related so I thought I'd put it on here.
My 16 year old nephew's looking for a scooter and I've found one at about the right price but it's been deristricted. How easy is it
to restrict it again?
It's a 50cc Honda X8R, like
this one
I know some are restricted by the CDI unit, but can't fnd any info in this model.
Any help much appreciated!
Regards
Wyn

Not easy if you don't have the original bits depending what's been done.
Reverse of the below I guess.

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

Normally its a washer in the exhaust and a roller restricter on the back of the variator.
Why do you want to restrict again? to be in the law or stop him killing himself? Normally 16 year olds on restricted 50's are killed by other
stupid car drivers.

Thanks guys
I want him to be legal, especially if I buy the scooter! I'll ask tomorrow what mods have been done.
It's been stolen / recovered (no insurance notification) and it has had the wiring to the ignition lock butchered but that's a dead easy
fix although I won't tell the seller that!
