'99 Fireblade - where does this pipe go?
Hi,
Another kinda stupd question for you all! I have a 99 fireblade, seems to run alright, except I have one pipe coming out of the engine, and I
haven't got a clue what to attach it to!
(see pic below)
I compared it to a couple of mates cars, but they both have pre-97 engines - on theirs it goes to the water pump/thermostat housing down near the
prop, but this is NOT the same as mine there doesn't appear to be a nipple to fit it onto.
The haynes manual refers to it as a water bleed pipe, but again the pics seem to show the pre-97 layout. I have had to good look around the water
system and can't see anywhere to stick it!
Any ideas?

Just to make it clear the pipe I'm talking about is the one in my hand!

It's kinda sad to answer my own post (like talking to yourself), but the correct answer is to simply block it off. Apparently it's used
to to set up the carbs but is otherwise blocked. Since I've done that the engine is a lot easier to run, especially when cold.
BTW had her down to a local track today for the first time ever, and she ran very well. Hopefully I'll post some pics or movies soon - as my
mate with a digital video cam was there. It's also plainly obvious, just how bad a driver I am!
