What are kit manufactures doing for IVA?
Does anyone know what the major kit builders are doing for people wanting to build BECs then have them pass IVA?
If they now require a reverse are they offering a chassis with the required brackets to hold a Quaiffe or their own offering?
Just a thought seeing as most people ordering BEC kits today will be looking for IVA compliance.

I don't think any need to ensure they pass the test unless they say a certain part will....It's down to the builder to make sure it meets
the regs.
I might be wrong on that but it's no drama to add a mounting point for a reverse box.
Don't the lads who race in the RGB use a bike starter motor for reverse?...sure they do? Unless I dreamt it ...
My Daughter has taken over production of the damn fine Triton race seats and her contact email is emmatrs@live.co.uk.

I'm more thinking of how the replica manufacturers of cobras etc are going to sell cars with modern looking seats with head restraint as that is
going to look pretty weird.
Unless of course they hire out an IVA compliant seat to temp fit to the same mounting pattern as the more suitable replica seats so you can swap after
the test.

something I read in kit car magazine. There was a letter to Nigel Dean from someone stating how daft replicas like cobras etc would look with seats
with suitable head restraint.
Mr Dean's reply was that the rules are only there to make things safer so I guess that somewhere in the IVA draft manual is something referring
to seats.
Please check this is fact though before swapping anything as the magazines are just as falable as the rest of us for getting things mixed up from time
to time.
Cheers
Nigel

I havn;t bought it yet, so its no big deal - I'd just prefer to avoid a big wind break on the passenger side when hardly anyone will sit in it.

From what i've heard both MK and MNR are "developing" a reverse box of some sort. Hopefully it will be cheaper than the quaife!
