Noise reducing tips
Have my SVA retest on Friday after failing on Noise (108dB). The engine is a CBR954.
I have now fitted the following:
Airbox
Restrictor in the exhaust.
Lagged the engine bay with accoustic foam.
Can anybody think of anything I have missed
Cheers

Do you have things rigidly mounted?
like engine, exhaust etc? If you can reduce the amount of vibration that resonates around the chassiss that might help!

Would the last person who leaves the country please switch off the lights and close the door!

if its mounted rigid then the car body becomes a loud speaker. I did this on the Falcon with the v6, utterly horrable racket right through the whole
car, changed it to rubber mounts, quiet as a mouse

If you have can, rotate the tailpipe end so it points to the ground or even back uner the car away from the testers sound meter.

Ever seen a Jensen Healey engine bay?
They have / had a silencer before the airbox!
Good luck with the test.

How about deadening some panels with acoustic material? Get it off the bay for a few quid and stick it to the inside of thin panels. Kills the
reasonance.
If its broke, fix it. If it aint broke, take it apart and find out how it works!
