919 blade charging issues

Im having issues with the 30A fuse that hooks up above my battery with the other end connected to the regulator etc, on the way into work the battery was charging up from around 12.2 up to 12.4, then without me switching anything it started to drop, and when i got to work it was 11.8 and the fuse had blown, any ideas what to look at first ?
The regulator is sat in a stupid (hot) place, it has always been there and the previous owner never mentioned it being a problem...

With the engine running and charging you should see 13 - 14 volts, sounds like the regulator/rectifier has burned out. Podtronics do a good universal replacement, it would be best to site it out of that hot spot, they do need to dissipate heat.

Do check all the reg connectors and wires first they have a habit of burning out too

I have lost two blade regulators, one went open circuit and battery went flat, the other stopped regulating pushing 18v into the battery and boiled it dry.

You probally have the latter, count yourself lucky to still have a battery and the fuse blowing.
