Tekkin the piss?!

i saw an advert for a company that had 3 busa engines for sale, so out of curiosity i rang them to see how much.

what would you describe as a fair price for a running busa engine out of a new-ish bike, say less than 3 years old.

any suggestions!?

i thought to myself, a grand is a bargain and 2 is probably average.

they said 3 to 3.5k, for an unmodified on out of a bike! plus, needs simple mods to go into a car! probably refering to sump mods i guess.

he also said simething about throttle bodies, which may not be standard.

sod that for a game of soldiers... get a full bike for less (nearly)

If you can get a whole bike for less I'd like to know where!!

This is about what they fetch, especially under 3 years old. We're not talking a plentiful supply here remember.

Add a dry sump kit at about £1000 if your lucky prop shaft etc . Big bucks... no locost certainly but fun!

Cheers

the only reason i wanted one was due to the greater turbo potential of the busa engine than most of its rivals. According to holeshot, blade engines are only good for 190bhp and 7psi, the black bird can cope with 300bhp and 16psi, but the busa tops out at 450bhp and 18psi.

seeing as i want the potential for full power in later years, i was hoping to start busa. maybe twin blade turbo, but if you are gonna mess around developing a twin engine drivetrain, you may as well go the full hog and get two busa engines turbo'd.

Dont laugh, im serious...

OMG The bike in that ebay ad is blatantly in America, look at the "stores" in the background. Has to be the dodgiest auction ever. Buy it now £2200 and free shipping. Steer well clear!!

I was just trying to find those images on someones homepage using google, blatantly where they are from...

Cheers

His feedback (7 entries) is all from sellers, it's the first thing he's sold and he's only been on ebay since January. Bike is in Cleethorpes, probably why it smells fishy. I've just checked the sellers who posted him feedback and they are mostly selling mobile accessories, rechargable batteries and cd's type stuff, a lot of it buy it now. Nothing bike related or expensive in there!

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Tell them you want to come and see it, and see what he says. The answer will probably be along the lines of:

The bike is abroad at the moment.....

Its been removed/auction ended early. And yes it looked fishy...a bit like the ones on a thread not too far back where the bike was abroad. Lots of dodgy busa auctions on ebay it seems...

Cheers

I've never seen a Busa at £2k, they usually fetch more than that, then you've got to spend lots more £££££'s for installation......

Cheshire motorcycles do them at £3000 when they have them and they don't seem to stay long at that. If someone will pay it you can't blame the sellers.
