cost of engine transplant??

I currently have a 918 blade in the fury and want to upgrade to a 2006 R1 engine, assuming i get the full engine package of Malc (approx £1400), what else do i need to budget for and what would you expect the total cost to be?

you're going carb to fuel injection so that'll potentially be the biggest hurdle if you need a new fuel tank to take the bike pump.

You may need a new dash, power commander, speedo recalibrator, exhaust manifold, engine cradle etc - doubt you'll see any change from £2k at all really - maybe even heading towards £2500 if you need to sort a new tank etc too.

Turbo the blade may be a better option tbh (the scrutineers wont spot the turbo surely!!)

Car has to fit into rgb regs so no turbo I'm afraid. Dash and speedo all fine as its a digidash. I will make the cradle myself so cost is fairly low. Why do I need a new tank?

Just spotted the RGB connection - editted my post as you were replying!!

Dont know you do need a new tank - just a maybe and something to consider when costing up hence me mentioning it. The standard r1 fuel pump is tank mounted - so thought you should look into the options with the fueling - there's a few ways to do the job after all - Swirl pot / alternative injection pump / standard R1 pump etc

You can keep your tank Austen, you could do what I've done. I think it cost me £30 to have my swirl pot fabricated with a 1/4" plate base that the bike in-tank pump bolts into. Run low pressure pump to swirl pot then you can use your existing fuel line to engine bay.

Manifold could cost a bit, you'll need to modify your prop or get another one made, I'm guessing you plan to modify the bike airbox? Power Commander (although I'm not sure you strictly need one, I know Tony doesn't run one in the Wolfe).
