From a pile of metal 1" box. one small step for man.....
In August 2009 i bought myself the "build yourself a sports car for as little as £250"
well i then went and bought a pile of Steel tube 1" box 16 gauge.
 
simular to above.
anyway since then ive been on here collecting bits for my car.
and building what i can with my new welder and huge garage :O)
i bought a motorbike 1993 kawasaki zzr1100 needing alot of work for £400.00
i sold all the bits i didnt need for £450 and kept the engine.
I bought alot of bits from a guy in lincolnshire from his kit car.
so far ive spent £1000.00 in parts.
but now its running although it doesnt have ther throttle,brakes or clutch wired in properly. i can start it and move it using the clutch lever from
the bike.
today was the first day i have almost all the body parts in place and i moved it out of the garage.
lots more to do but the fact it now looks like a car and not just a pile of metal tube and spare bits from peoples old kits.
anyway here is how it looked today after driving it out of the garage.
All the panels are just sat in place at the moment so i can remove and finish the air box and brakes and tons of things left but when done i will put
back together and respray the whole lot.
my colour choice is below....

my list of next things to do.
finish engine install. (wiring etc)
install clutch throttle and brakes.
install brake lines.
replace wishbones
finish wheels (1 done)
install dashboard
measure all bolts to buy them for everything to install properly.
build airbox
road test :O)

id leave it like that its like one of them polo harlequins from a few years back, or paint it that really bright orange wont get lost in the car park
that way.
well done so far and keep going.

Nice work mate, what the plan for headrests, separate ones on a roll bar??

Oh, i remember the slog, pain etc when i did mine
NEVER AGAIN, if i had to replace my locost< i would buy one of those MK lego kits, and finish it in a few weeks !!

Well done, thats a great milestone to achieve 
It is very satisfying indeed turning a pile of steel into something that you can drive out of your garage

MAtt ... Engine runs well with airbox on no space for it at moment though.
N headrest ???? Ermmmmmm new seats I think. They are nice but I'll build some sport style ones for the harnesses

Looking good 
I wish mine had only taken that long to get to the stage you're at now  (like many others on here I'm sure).
I agree with Steve m, I won't do a scratch build again! Too much hassle and too many 'adjustments' on the way. Having said that,
once my +442 is finally on the road, at least I can say "I built that" and mean it
