Oil pressure gauge jumping around.
Hi guys.
The Stuart Taylor I bought is having dramas with the oil pressure gauge. The dial is jumping around all over the place. It has a remote oil pressure
sender which I have read can be affected by bumps etc. It is cable tied to the chassis. Is this likely to be the issue and if so what sort of mounting
should I use to correct it?

+1 The body of the sender needs a good earth and I doubt it'sgetting one if just cable tied. Failing that then I'd suspect the sender as

I remounted it today like so:
I have read that they can be fragile when it comes to vibrations. Should I be looking to mount it a different way?

Yes, they can be fragile and vibration is often blamed. The alternatives are either to mount it on rubber bobbins or put rubber between your straps
and the sender (n either case you'll have to put an earth wire from the sender body to the chassis) or leave it as it is and keep your fingers
crossed.
Is it just an optical illusion or is the end terminal very close to earthing via the brake pipe?

Thanks mate. I may remount it with a rubber mount and run a ground lead to it. It is an optical illusion by the looks of it, the brake line is about
an inch below the terminal on the sender.
