2003 R1 Oil

Is this the correct oil for my 2003 R1?
The only reason I ask is that I thought I should be putting in semi synthetic to reduce the chance of clutch slip or am I completely wrong??

If this is wrong can someone supply me with a link to some decent correct well priced oil.

in my R1 i use Fuchs Silkolene Comp 4 synthetic 10-40 recommended by my local Yamaha dealer.

it was £38 for 4ltr a few weeks ago, so a bit more expensive that that Yamalube oil change kit

Hi
We have an Indy R1 2001 carb engine with a std R1 clutch & use Silkolene Comp 4 synthetic 10-40
Good oil recomended by Yamaha & all works fine.
Not cheap though.

Yamaha have their own oil called 'Yamalube' available in 10w40 Semi that is surprisingly well priced.

Silkolene Comp4 10/40 fully synthetic for mine as well.

I've also used Valvoline 4T fully synthetic in the past.

Never had any problem with the clutch with syn' oil, despite the rumors to the contrary.
