Fireblade Engine slant/depth

I'm ready to instal my Blade motor in my locost chassis. The output for the propshaft wants to hit the chassis rail (entry to the trans tunnel).

To correct this, I slanted the motor a bit. It now runs parallel to the upper chassis rail and about an inch away from it. This allows a bit more space for the prop (when it comes). Does this seem reasonable? It seems a bit strange that the engine does not sit parallel to the trans tunnel...

I checked the HellFire site but could not tell from the pics what they did.

Also, I have the motor positioned 1 inch below the chassis (standard sump). This still seems a bit high. Is this about what you locost blade owners run?

Any help is appreciated.

Thats about where mine is. But get the sump plug moved to the side.
I promise you you will knock it off and loose all your oil.
I know , I was that man!

Thanks for the help. I now have the engine in position and ready for the motor mounts.

I suppose you are right about the drain bolt sitcking down. This is certainly something I need to fix before the first drive!
