Folks, im getting nearer completing The Mook. Ive installed a new gear shift shaft as the teeth on the other one were shagged. Do you think i should
run a bolt through the gear change link/pivot into the small rose joint with spacers to keep the gear change cable straight, or just whack a bolt
through the gear change link/pivot into the rose joint without the spacers?

I'd expect it to be pretty stiff if you put it at that angle. I'd go with the extension bolt idea as long as the bolt doesn't flex.
That'd give a poor feel to the change and possibly (long-term) result in the arm breaking.
Can you not bend the outer cable mount to give a better alignment?

Thats not a bad idea! It looks pretty beefy but i'll give it a try tomorrow.
