Power commander question?
I've bought a power commander III for my GSXR 1000 K1 off eBay but it appears to be an old type with a serial plug, not USB.
Anyone using this older sort? Its got a couple of extra plugs (white ones) on the harness that I don't recognise. Where would these plug
into?
Will this work with a serial to usb adapter from eBay. not sure whether to return and wait for a usb one.
Cheers

USB to serial works fine - you need to download the power commander 3 software from their website.
Also, don't try and upload any map files - they need to be a certain version because the USB and the Serial PC3 uses a different language which
are not compatible.
I've got a name and number for the tech support guy at power commander who was REALLY helpful and knows his s**t if you need it

I use a serial PC3, and mine has two red connectors just like those. They connect inline with the brake light wiring as the power source for the PC3.

Well, after a closer inspection, it appears the thing I have bought is a Power Commander IIIr. Any idea that the "r" means?
The number on the sticker is 307-310. A quick google of that suggests that this is for a GSXR 600 K1-2 but the extra plugs are for ignition
adjustment. What is this? Do I need to use this?
Cheers

I would phone dynojet up on Tuesday, they will tell you what you have and what you can do with it.

its means you can adjust the timing to advance the firing point of each spark plug..
the 2 white connectors are a loop and go inline of the crank sensor..
