ZX12r - oil level
Hi folks, the manual for my engine states to fill the engine oil 3/4 up the sight glass, will that be cold with all of the oil in the sump, or hot
with the engine running?
i have a shortened sump with sump extension, and baffle
when running the oil drops to near the bottom of the sight glass

Who modded the sump?
I would ask them about level/capacity as normally in a BEC the standard oil level used in the bike is not correct.

SKC modded it, took 30mm off it and added the lost capacity to the side so the sump should have the same volume.
I'm just confused as I've seen conflicting answers on here, some say measure level with the engine running, others say with it cold.
With the engine cold I've filled it to the top of the sight glass

We have our oil level at three quarters full in the sight glass whilst running. It's been at that level for the last 12 years without
problems.

Cheers Phil, it's going on the dyno on Tuesday to get the Power commander set up and I want to make sure it's tip top. I've read
loads of your older posts on here, great source of info
