blade clutch
good job i greased the gasket cos off comes the cover again. getting a really horrible noise when i first go into gear, dip the clutch gently push
lever forward you can hear it grinding jab it into gear and it goes in but turns the prop about 1/4 of a rotation from here on in it's ok. what
i did notice last time i stripped it down to put new springs in was if you grabbed opposite sides of the basket it would rock slightly but there is no
forward and backward movement could this be causing the clutch not to fully disengage but it doesn't explain why it's only nuetral to 1st
or nuetral to 2nd

On the bike you have to stomp it into gear because they are straight cut. It's something you'll have to get used to I think or fit a cush
drive prop.

As Pete says - it's perfectly normal. If it's unnerving you get a Bailey Morris propshaft for instance.

Agreed, it will go in with a clank and the prop will move a bit when doing so, all perfectly normal Id say

keep the revs lower
today i had the same symptons...
with my system...(gearbox addon)
but if you keep the revs lower....
then the forces are also lower en the blang will change from sound....
What still is important is that your clutch is fully free of every bit of friction it has(altough not enough to move the drivetrain)
today when the idle screw loosened the opposite way (YES It screw in!!) my idle revs where a bit high then when putting 1st in it deffinitly gave a
hard noise....
and 2nd was even worse.. its like an enormous BLINGgggggg! and offcourse the prop turns...
but if you can lower the revs of it and maybe a bit more free clutch it should improve.. what also improves is an engine wich has his oil etc on
temperature...
(it will let the clutch easier slip..i guess)

forgot to mention that if you longer will push the clutch in and then will slect first gear..the input shaft of the box will then rev lower...and the
energie will be less..
offcourse only if clutch isn't engaged..
