R1 clutch movement
How much movement does the clutch actuation arm have on a 99 R1? I'm talking about after it has taken up the slack of its return spring and
started to open the clutch (can't do it by hand and don't want to use the foot pedal incase i pull it too far!)
Cheers,
Oli

From fully engaged to disengaged, you're looking at about 12mm of linear movement (i.e. how much you would need to pull the cable....).

It is very hard to do by hand on the blade, I assume the R1 is the same, as already mentioned it has minimal travel, maybe 15-20mm.
HTH,
Rich.

hard to move the clutch by hand?
hmm.. on mine its very easy to pull the cable and rotate the clutch by hand.. (which would be faaaar to weedy for a foot pedal clutch)
mine is yet to be install with no mods, mind..
have you put a beefier spring on? or does mine sound buggered!?

No extra spring on mine, and I have no problems. It's light, but you get used to it....

I put a second diaphragm spring in to beef up the clutch a bit and give it more feel.

I thinkyou might just be taking up the slack Dillinger if you find it that easy. I'm certainly no 7 stone weakling and I really had to push
hard to shift it by hand. I have just fitted a Barnett pressure plate to mine. Converts it to a traditional style plate with 6 springs. You also
get 2 sets of springs of different stiffness. Had this in our R1 Mini rally car for 3 years and clutch has never missed a beat. Cost about £120 but
worth it for peace of mind.
