Fitting prop shafts
Has anyone fitted the prop shafts (front AND rear) with the engine in place? Waiting for mine to be made,but could do with putting engine in to fit
cables,hoses,wiring etc; ZX9R in Indy and don't really want the a**e of taking it out again

You won't get it all down the tunnel I dont think, certainly couldnt fit mine unless the engine is out AND I take the rear flange off so it fits
down the tunnel. I guess some of it depends on your tunnel design though

Depends whether you have IRS or live axle. If you've got live axle the slider can be used to make the shaft shorter to get it in place....

Thanks for that,looks like I shall have to put it in and out again , was on a roll, now slowly grinding to a halt,be a week before props are ready

Props?
If you have a reverse box you might be able to slot the pieces in and bolt them up after.Wouldn't it be easier enough to undo the diff to put
them into the tunnel if the engine is bolted in and wired up?

I did my Indy with the engine in bit of a fiddle but can be done aimed the prop down the middle where the inner battery scuttle goes

We've done it a few times with the engine in place. It's a bit of fiddle like Chris says but it can be done. We found it best to jack the
front end up and slide it in from underneath.

No reverse box Pete,standard sierra rear shaft and centre bearing,short shaft to sprocket adaptor.
Thats two votes for 'it's possible'. If I leave the bolts off the engine sub frame to chassis mounts I should be able to lift
engine around 3", without disconecting anything,once rear prop is in,no problem.

I managed to get mine in with a load of fiddling ( ) and I have a full flat bottomed floor making it even more difficult!
