Paddleshift...How much force?

Im considering fitting a paddleshift to my car...

I have quite a small (~10" wheel)..

How hard would it be to change gear with a similarly sized paddle arangement? Do I need to apply quite a lot of force to change?

Does it wear your fingers out after a long drive?

I could put a normal stick shift on, but there is not much room to get your hands off the wheel

And also...what diameter morse type cable are people using for the gearchange?

bikes change gear with just a light tap of the pedal, hardly any force at all.

I'd use some nice teflon lined control cables like you use on motor boats.
