Fuel pressure regulator
Hello, im fitting an R1 injected engine and im using a bosch external pump. Would this reguire the use of a fuel pressure regulator? If so any
recommendations?

There is a pressure regulator built into the return on your fuel rail. You need to ensure that the bosch pump's cut out pressure is just beyond
this.
Someone will be along to tell you what it iis or point you towards the R1 manual.

Fuel Pressure
2003 R1 fuel regulator on the rail lifts around 40 psi
Fuel pump Spec from manual is:-
Pump type Electrical ----
Model (manufacturer) 5PW (DENSO) ----
Output pressure 94 kPa (2.94 kg/cm2, 42.6 psi)
We are running a vauxhall pump plus Vauxhall fuel injection filters either side of the pump on a 2006 R1 engine which yamaha manual says is the same
spec fuel pump as the 2003 model.
Pump pressure must be higher than the regulator lift pressure on the rail

For our race cars we are using the Bosch 0580254911 fuel injection pump. This is on a 2006 motor but this is the same for all R1 injected engines.
The chap at lynx ax recommended this pump as it was best suited. Has worked faultlessly so far. No need for a pressure reg as the fuel rail has a
built in one.
***Except for the 2007 motor as this does not have a fuel pressure reg on the rail****
Cheapest place we found them was GSF car parts.

Cheers guys, its a 5pw and as MNR only sent the pump with the engine im hoping its made to work with the R1 regulator
