5JJ Cable

Does anyone know where the Blue with black trace from the ECU goes?

The ecu is a 2000 - 2001 5JJ US version without the cycle locks. According to mr haynes it goes up to the ignition control switch but I am not too sure if it needs connecting somewhere to allow the car to start, however the car is turning over. The wire has +5V on it. Originally I thought it went to the blue/yellow cable from the clutch but this already has 12V on it from the starter circuit relay.

Replaced the relay assembly and ecu and I now have 0V on the blue and yellow - the car is still turning over etc as before but not still not starting.

It goes to the ignition switch and connects to the blue with yellow tracer that goes to the start relay and clutch switch. Secondary ignition circuit.

Exup won't effect it. The others stop the starter turning (clutch switch will cut ignition when you put it in gear).

Whats your ingnition/starter switch setup?

Thanks Adrian - i now have a spark. The pick up coil wasnt pushed in fully, doh!!! with all the testing and the problems with the ecu i must of left it slightly out, however it wont start now because the battery is on the rather low side
