I doubt there's a bloke on this forum (of a certain age) that could deny that they've seen fast and furious, however, there was a SkyTV
program called pink slips (or something like that ) that was always on just before that Overhaulin' program...
Was quite entertaining (in an american way!)
Oh, and Scott, you know I prefer a plain cotton teddy n matching panties, when I'm entertaining

Just look out next week. If his car is on a garage, he is chipping it.
Not that he would win either way.

S3 in the wet doing a 14.3:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVgxRDiPHxk
And an R1 (bit more power) powered MK putting in a 13.4 in the dry:
http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=139930
Bit closer than people think?

as i have both cars lol im pretty sure to say the
mk r1 is faster
my 2001 s3 210bhp std with a re map to 275bhp did the pod in 14.0 secs dead
i spoke to alot of std s3 owners on the day and they were all about 14.9-15.2 secs
although i think i personally in my car be as quick round any track as my locost r1
the s3 is fast when moving its just wank on the brake's !

Just say to him if he believes he is quicker then tell him he must be right, smile knowingly and offer him out for a sunday sit in your car
It's the same with bikes, whenever you pull up alongside some super-hotted up boy racer type motor, the revs rise, he hunches over the wheel and
waits for the lights......
...they change, he spins off into the distance, and I pootle off with a slight twist of the throttle and catch him at the next set
I know I can whoop his ass so why bother showing him? Once you get to the open road it's sooooo easy to just whip past with a knowing look
It looks like the Midget is winning at the moment......

Take him with you to one of the airfield handling days
The one I did at North Weald was great fun and very safe, I also feel that the Audi whilst quick will look like a drunk Elephant compared with a BEC

check this power 2 weight chart http://westfield-world.com/power-to-weight.html
your mk is 284bhp
and the s3 works out 137bhp
but then if you stuck the s3 engine in yours you would have 466bhp in power 2 weight ratio!
his engine is with out a dought more powerfull but his weights 3 times your mk, like the maker of 7 said, less is more!!

Although on a 1/4 I think the MK would be quicker, unless you're confident in your ability to get it off the line it'd be close. Standing
starts aren't a BEC strong point.
On any short/medium length track (in the dry) you'll be quicker... unless he's a LOT better driver than you. On a track like Silverstone
it won't be so clear cut... but you'll still be queing up behind him in the corners.
So, yes he's talking s**t! Give him a ride and no matter how fast it is, keep complaining about his fat arse slowing it down.

i used to have an imprezza wrx and the 4wd is better in the wet then dry, in the wet it used to launch, it would spin for a second make a dry patch
and then grip and go but in the dry unless you had a desent clutch it would slip and burn the clutch, so really it all depends on you boths driving
skills!
