MotaLeira.....getting closer to finish
Hopefully it will be completed in a couple of months.
All of the brake/clutch lines and most of the water pipes are in, although not clipped yet.
Finshed off the front suspension. It still needs adjusting. The brake lines will be hidden under wishbone profiles (talking to carbon mods at the
moment.
All of the braided stuff supplied by Russ Bost.

Some safety features include lock wire and safty washers:

I needed to dip them in boiling water to get the ends onto the resevoir pipes!

Look slike it's coming along nicely. Will you make the SVA or are will it not have too much bother with the IVA?

SVA is too tight as I believe the forms need to be in for Feb 28th.

I don't want to start an argument / discussion over this, so can only Nitram reply.
On the second picture it looks like the paint has chipped. Is that a trick of the light or has it chipped. How durable are you finding your top coat?

I'm still going to be doing SVA martin - Surely the car will be close enough? As long as it's driveable - SVA + retest is far less than
an IVA!
Interested in what MikeR picked up there, I haven't even scratched my coating yet, but I'm only fitting floor panels...

Are you talking about the chassis?
No chip just a scuff. Not through the paint. Easily touched up.............with a brush
Any marks on the bones are from dust/flash, no damage.

I still have a lot to do.
Wiring, install air suspension, cycle wing brackets, order driveshafts, front and rear lighting pods (side, indicators), front nose support frame to
name but a few jobs!

Are the head lights fitted at that or just temporary? They seem to droop but could be optical illusion.

Looks nice. Can you explain why you choose ventilated discs instead of solid? I'm currently trying to make my mind up between the two, and would
like to know your motivation for choosing ventilated.

There is a lot of talk about "overbraking" and single discs being "enough".
I am hoping to do some track days so even single discs will give brake fade. Ventilated discs should hopefully stay cooler longer and hence extend
driving before fade starts.
I could have bought cross drilled/grooved single discs but these are not cheap and will wear the pads out quicker.

Our Indy weighs less than 500kg and I can honestly say we've never noticed any brake fade whatsoever with solid discs on trackdays. Solid discs
are comparable with the ventilated Sierra brakes for efficiency but quite a bit lighter.

The front suspension is very smart.
What is the running gear?
600 BHP per ton, Stylus Brought back from the dead! Turbo Rotary Powered!

Home build, based on atom.
The uprights are home build too using rover 214 bearings and wheel hubs/discs.

very impressive, are you going with the honda engine then?
How do you start to work out the geomitry for the front end from scratch?

R1 engine, hence this post is in the bec forum
The answer to the geometry is books, a little bit of learned experience from previous builds and pencil, measuring and paper

Have a look back through my photo archive, I have bilstein shocks that have airbags for springs which can be inflated by a small on board
compressor.
These was supplied to me by Arnott Industries in Florida.
Basically I can run at 3" for most driving but raise the car to 6" for speed bumps.
It will even sit on the floor if required.
I have titanium blocks on the underside of the chassis in case a shock fails.
